To achieve the carbon reduction goals in the electric furnace process, the following strategies can be implemented:

A.Optimal Energy Efficiency:

1. Enhance Energy Efficiency: Optimize energy management of the electric furnace to reduce energy consumption. Introduce advanced control systems to optimize the heating process of the electric arc furnace, maximizing the utilization of input energy.

2. Energy Recovery: Implement waste gas heat recovery systems to convert the heat energy from the furnace’s waste gases into usable energy, which can be used for preheating scrap or other processes.

B.Increase Scrap Ratio:

1. Increase Scrap Utilization: Raise the proportion of scrap in raw materials, reducing the use of iron ore, and thereby decreasing carbon emissions. Improve scrap processing technology to ensure the quality and purity of scrap.

2. Develop Scrap Pretreatment Technology: Enhance the efficiency of scrap use by sorting, cleaning, and crushing to reduce impurities and improve smelting efficiency.

C.Innovative Low-Carbon Smelting Technology with All-Scrap Electric Furnace:

1. Carbon-Free Power Source: Use renewable energy sources (such as solar and wind power) as the primary power source for the electric furnace, reducing the use of fossil fuels.

2. Low-Carbon Smelting Process: Introduce new smelting processes such as low-temperature smelting and rapid smelting to reduce CO2 emissions during smelting.

3. Advanced Waste Gas Treatment Systems: Install high-efficiency waste gas treatment equipment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the electric furnace smelting process.

By implementing these measures, significant carbon reduction can be achieved in the electric furnace process, reaching carbon reduction targets of 10% to 70%.
